Tell us about your role with CORECHEM as Regional Account Manager?

As a Regional Account Manager at CORECHEM, I have the privilege of developing new and nurturing existing relationships with clients within a 250-mile radius of Knoxville, TN.  

My role involves learning and working to understand the unique needs and challenges of each one. I collaborate with my amazing team at CORECHEM to find solutions to fit each client’s needs and overcome their challenges.  

Having a solutions-based mindset allows us the opportunity to have a Customer First approach where we can fulfil our purpose of helping people and supporting our communities.  Additionally, I work to keep my clients informed with real-time communication as it relates to day-to-day operations, while also providing up-to-date market information.

What do you like about working in industrial chemical sales?

Being in the field, meeting a variety of people in many different positions and learning the various ways our chemicals are used by those businesses.  

Helping people to find solutions to their challenges face to face, and building those relationships is the most rewarding part of what I do. I often say, we are in the information business and sell chemicals to pay the bills. I love what I do and the people I have the privilege of working with. 

What are the key changes you’ve seen in this sector over the years?

There has been nothing but changes in the past 4 years!  Working through a global pandemic was a major challenge. Navigating through supply chain issues, manufacturing plant fires and force majeure situations have all presented unique scenarios for our clients that we have had to work through together to ensure their success.  

These challenges will always be a part of what we do. Having up-to-date market information and the forward-thinking leadership we have at CORECHEM, allows us to make those pivotal moves to keep our customer/partners informed and supplied.

What trends do you expect to see in 2024 in the chemical sector?

In 2024, the chemical industry is undergoing exciting changes with a focus on sustainability and innovation. Companies are working to adopt more environmentally friendly practices, such as using greener manufacturing processes and developing more eco-friendly products. This trend not only benefits the planet but also creates new opportunities for growth and development within the industry.

Moreover, technology is playing a pivotal role, with advancements like artificial intelligence and automation streamlining production processes. This not only boosts efficiency but also creates new possibilities for skilled professionals in the field. As a result, there is a growing demand for individuals with a solid understanding of both traditional chemical practices and emerging technologies.  

Collaboration is another key trend, as companies work together to address common challenges and drive collective progress. This collaborative spirit fosters a dynamic and innovative environment within the industry and allows the opportunity for personal and professional growth.
