Lactic Acid is a syrupy, water-soluble organic acid produced when milk or certain fruits ferment.
Lactic Acid is used as a food preservative, a curing agent, and a flavoring agent. It is an ingredient in processed foods, and is used as a decontaminate during meat processing. It is produced commercially by fermentation of carbohydrates such as glucose, sucrose, or lactose.
