Sulfuric Acid, Battery Acid, Dihydrogen Sulfate, Drying Acid, Oil of Vitriol, Electrolyte Acid, Matting Acid, Sulphuric Acid, Hydrogen Sulfate
Sulfuric Acid 93-98% Solution is a colorless, odorless, viscous, and highly corrosive acid. It is soluble in water at all concentrations. However, it is highly exothermic. When diluting, the acid should always be added to the water, rather than the water to the acid.
Sulfuric Acid is a highly versatile chemical with a wide variety of applications, due to the number of useful chemical properties it has. It is a highly corrosive acid with oxidizing and sanitizing properties, is hygroscopic, and functions as a dehydrating agent. For this reason it is one of the most important chemicals.
Some of the applications it is used in are: fertilizer manufacturing, acid leaching, metal treatment, pH control, mineral processing, oil refining, water and wastewater treatment, process regulator, rust removal, sanitizing food and dairy facilities, steel manufacturing, plastics, paints, paper, soil rehabilitation, chemical synthesis, drain cleaners and other various cleaning agents, lead-acid batteries, dehydrating a compound, and etc.

Sulfuric Acid causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Protective clothing should be worn at all times when handling this material. If material comes in contact with skin, wash IMMEDIATELY with plenty of water for 15 – 20 minutes and get medical attention immediately. Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area and avoid breathing vapors. Please see Sulfuric Acid 93-98% Solution Safety Data Sheet for full safety and compatibility information.
