Hexane is used as a solvent for a variety of industrial applications such as extraction, cleaning, glues, etc. It is commonly used to extract vegetable oils from soybeans, peanuts, corn, or other crops. It is used in textile, furniture, printing, and shoemaking industries for cleaning. It may be used as a degreaser. It is also used in glues in various industries such as the shoe and leather industry, roofing, hobby glues, or in rubber cement. It is used in paints and lacquers, paint thinners, adhesives, and coatings. It is a constituent of gasoline. It may be used as an alcohol denaturant.
