Potassium Hydroxide applications include food processing, alkaline batteries, detergents/soaps, dying and bleaching, paint and varnish removers, electroplating, photoengraving, lithography, analytical chemistry, fuel and gas, stabilizer, thickening agent, cosmetics, organic synthesis, pharmaceutical acid (alkalizer), chemical peeling of fruits and vegetables, pH adjustment. It may be used as an intermediate in industrial manufacturing processes.
Keep only in the original container. Keep the container tightly closed and properly labeled. Keep separate from incompatible substances. Do not store in an aluminum container or use aluminum fittings or transfer lines, as flammable hydrogen gas may be generated. This product is corrosive and highly exothermic. Do not breathe mist, vapors, or spray. Wash face, hands, and any exposed skin thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment when using. This product causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
