Calcium Chloride 30 – 32% Solution is a blend of 30-32% dry pellets by weight plus water. It appears as a colorless liquid and has no odor. CORECHEM supplies Liquid Calcium Chloride in totes.
Also available:
Liquid Calcium Chloride (CaCl2 Solution) is commonly used for roadway dust and ice control. It is effective for dust control applications due to its hygroscopic nature. Calcium Chloride continuously draws water out of the air, increasing moisture on the surfaces it’s applied to. For de-icing applications, Calcium Chloride is considerably more effective than Sodium Chloride, as it melts to a much lower temperature. It may be used for pre-treatment or sprayed on after ice and snow have already built up. It is also used to increase calcium hardness in water treatment applications, as an accelerator for ready-mix concrete curing, and as an antifreeze for coal storage and transportation.
Caution should be taken when applying to surfaces. The product is corrosive to metals (i.e. iron, steel). When applied to soil and plants (land applications), if aggressively over-sprayed, it can cause an alkalinity load that may hurt the plants.
