At CORECHEM, our goal as your chemical supplier is to work alongside you, rather than for you. Does this mean there are things that you, our customer, can do, to “help us help you”?
…Yes! It does. In this third episode of ‘CORECHEM Breaks it Down’, our CSR Manager, Dan Bobak, and Sales Coordinator, Kelly Maynard-Bales, discuss best practices to keep in mind, as well as sharing a ‘top tip’ for those who order on a regular basis.
Also, learn some other interesting points along the way, like: Why are chemicals not always kept sitting, in stock on a shelf, like products at Home Depot, or Lowe’s? What cold-weather product sells like crazy… in the heat of summer? What’s one other way you can place your order (besides calling in, or emailing us)? Learn all this, and more, on our latest episode of ‘CORECHEM Breaks it Down’!
1. Lead Time
As Dan explains, the more lead time you can give us, the better. He recommends reaching out “as soon as you know you need the product”. There are a lot of reasons for this, but the bottom line is, giving us a healthy lead time helps ensure that your order can be fulfilled, in the time frame that you need it to be fulfilled. Also, Dan mentions how his team does find it helpful to receive actual PO’s, with all of the order details clearly displayed.
2. Website
Our website is an extensive resource of information and helpful resources. Not only can you find SDS’s, PDS’s, chemical synonyms, and an extensive amount of written information (including, in our blog)- but you can also order many products directly online, for fast, efficient processing & fulfillment. We are happy to offer shipping via R&L Carriers, UPS, and (if relevant) Customer Pick-Up, for orders placed online.
3. Be Aware
Simply being aware of the volatile nature of the chemical industry can help prevent surprises- especially if your orders come on a less-frequent basis. Many of our products are crude oil derived, or otherwise tied to markets that fluctuate as constantly as world events.
…And Dan’s ‘top tip’…?
4. Production Increases
For the customers that we service on a regular basis (i.e. weekly order fulfillment, twice-a-month, etc.): Our purchasing & production teams will be prepping (and planning) on a daily basis, to fulfill your regular order. An unexpected, last minute request for, (for example) double the normal volume of chemical, due to a production increase, can be difficult to fulfill. While we may have the chemical you need, on the floor, we may have another customer hoping to receive that very product the next day! Giving us notice of increases in production ahead of time is a huge help to all of the teams involved in keeping you supplied.
Note: In this podcast, Dan and Kelly discuss the fact that our icemelt orders are ramping up. Please note that CORECHEM is currently servicing full truckload icemelt orders only. We no longer sell this product by the pallet.
